would two 14-2's connected together be able to carry the same voltage as 1 8-2?
The insulation on the 14's are not stripped, so the current would start with both hots together, then it would have to split to run down either 14 wire, then come back together at the end.
Do you think that's possible instead of having to go buy a 8-2 to carry the stronger current?

If you are talking about NM-B then 2 14AWG is not capable of handling the load of the 8AWG. You would need at least 2 12 AWG.
